    Village of Condom

Situated on the banks of the river Baïse, Condom is a fortified village where the Romanesque and Gothic ramparts are still visible today. Surrounded by greenery, you will have the opportunity to admire the typical landscapes of Gascony, mixing fields and vineyards, from the panorama offered by this charming village, witness of a rich history.
As you stroll through the town centre, you will inevitably pass by the majestic Saint-Pierre cathedral, a monument of character in the Gothic style that dominates this ancient episcopal city. Hop on board the little tourist train and enjoy a guided tour! You will not fail to meet the most famous Gascons: D’Artagnan and his musketeers, whose bronze statues are on display at the foot of the Cathedral. You can also take a walk in the cloister of Condom, adjoining the cathedral and with its impressive vaults. The centre of Condom is also home to many private mansions dating from the 18th and 19th centuries. A port town, the commercial port of Condom on the banks of the Baïse dating from the 18th century has played an important role in the economic development of the town. Today, the river, once known as the Silver River, is still navigable.
For those who enjoy walking, there are many paths accessible from Condom: St-Jacques de Compostelle and the Voie Verte de l’Armagnac (also accessible by bike, 500m from the campsite).

    Fortified village of Larressingle

This fortified village, still protected by ramparts, has survived the wars, but has been reborn today thanks to meticulous restoration work. Classified as one of the Most Beautiful Villages in France, plunge into the history of Gascony and stroll through the heart of the village. You will see the castle and the church dating from the 13th century but still medieval houses in the heart of a typical natural area, surrounded by vineyards.

    Plan d’eau de Gauge

Enjoy a nature outing with your family, just a few steps from the campsite (13 min on foot)!
The island of Gauge, located between the Gauge lock and its canal and the Baïse river, its waterfall and its mill, is a preserved natural space sheltering a rich fauna and flora, which you will be able to discover through the explanatory panels. There is so much to observe! This vast green setting is also a place where outdoor sports activities are numerous: fishing, canoeing, mini-golf, fitness trail, table tennis…). Enough to enjoy the whole day.

    Double lock of Graziac

Built between 1838 and 1850, the double lock of Graziac overhangs the Baïse. Its impressive architecture, combining various construction materials, is all the more remarkable for its size: two 30-metre long locks and a 4.5-metre difference in height between the upper and lower sections. Enjoy an experience on the water! As the Baïse is navigable, it is possible to hire boats on your own, or to board the “”Gascogne Navigation”” boats and enjoy a guided cruise. Thanks to its large pontoon, it is possible to moor and visit the surroundings. A whole route can be discovered along the water!

    Windmill of Moussaron

This charming windmill located a few steps from Condom has been meticulously restored by two locals. Overlooking the hill, it offers a superb panorama of the Pyrenees and is still working today! A unique piece in the Gers department.

    Baïse trail and nature walks

Located 100m from the campsite. On this historic towpath, enjoy an 11-kilometre route that can be explored on foot, by bike or on horseback. It links the ports of Condom and Valence-sur-Baïse, via the double manual lock of Graziac and the Cistercian Abbey of Flaran.

    Flaran Abbey

Flaran Abbey (about 10 kms from the campsite) is an ancient Cistercian abbey, dating from 1151, situated at the confluence of the Auloue and Baïse rivers, at the foot of a rocky spur on which the bastide of Valence was founded. Listed as a Historic Monument, it is today one of the best preserved abbeys in south-west France: its buildings are remarkably well preserved!
